My typical morning begins at 3:30 a.m. I wake up to Besame Mucho by Andrea Bocelli. It is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It coats my soul and spirit with peace, love and hope.
Most people who know me know that I am very squirrelly. My mind and spirit are restless and I have a very hard time focusing. So to regulate that I go out for my morning run. This is my time, just me, my mind and my body out on the empty road. One mile at a time, one foot in front of the other. I love the feeling of freedom, I love the fresh air and in the spring here in the south I love the surprise smell of jasmine. Oh what a glorious way to begin each day. This is where I connect with my mind, my heart, my soul. This is my church. I pray, I laugh, I think, I cry but I never quit! Each mile gets easier and with each mile I feel more connected to myself and to this world I live in.
As the first mile quickly fades into a second and a third and fourth and fifth and sixth and so on I thank the Lord above for the courage, the strength, the endurance, the health, the safety that I have been given.
